Chromatography Software: eWorkflow Template for EPA Method 300.1

chromatography software eWorkflowOur Chromatography Data System (CDS) software (Thermo Scientific Dionex Chromeleon CDS software) has numerous features that automate many time-consuming and repetitive tasks that could result in operator errors and repeating the analysis leading to loss of valuable laboratory time. This blog post showcases one such Chromeleon software tool, eWorkflows, and offers a downloadable template for the analysis of anions in drinking water for an U.S. EPA method!

The advantage of using the eWorkflow tool in the Chromeleon CDS software is that the operator has to select a minimal number of options, for example, the instrument, number of samples, and starting vial position in the autosampler, before starting an analysis and producing final results.

An eWorkflow automatically builds all elements of a chromatography sequence, such as a list of available instruments; sequence name and storage location; injection list following the rules of the workflow; injection settings (Injection Volume, Injection Type, Calibration Levels, Dilution Factors, etc.); custom variables; associated objects for the sequence (Instrument and Processing methods, Reports); attachments for reference; and, data fields necessary for the workflow.

You can download and right away start using the eWorkflow template for the Analysis of Anions in Drinking Water based on the U.S. EPA Method 300.1: Determination of Inorganic Anions in Drinking Water by Ion Chromatography, (downloadable PDF of the method from the U.S. EPA site).

If you are interested in learning more about how the eWorkflow tool works or would like to setup up your own eWorkflows, check out this poster, Streamlining Workflows in Chromatography Laboratories, (downloadable PDF). The poster provides details on how to use the tool including the eWorkflow Wizard and eWorkflow Editor.

Let us know which other features you use and like in the Chromeleon CDS software in the Comments box below. We look forward to hearing from you!
